Gallardo’s comics are funny and well drawn. Her art falls somewhere in the ballpark of German cartoonists like Aisha Franz with a touch more cute mixed in at times. The stories in A Strong Woman are all based in some kind of reality but quickly spin off into fantastical space of the artist’s imagination getting close to something realer than reality. Recommended for fans of Gabrielle Bell.
